随着我国城乡一体化建设的飞速发展，城乡植被覆盖率逐步提高，绿化层次也逐步升级，以品位高、品种新、外观奇、具有特色的绿化树种在加强城乡绿化的过程中占据主体地位，其中垂杨备受城乡居民的青睐，是城乡绿化、各个绿化带和林荫道、广场及公园、居民小区庭院绿化等的最为理想的树种。
