《汉语大字典·广部》"■"、"■"、"■"三字,释义照录故训,令人费解。今试胪列书证,考析形义,以释其疑。"■"为"■(厦)"的或体,《玉篇》诸本或释"贱也",或释"旁屋"。两相参证,"贱"应系对"廈"的故训"旁广而卑"及"屋之四下"的误解。"■"乃"■"之讹字。"■"之"屋头"义当指屋后或屋侧;"行屋"则指出行所用的可以移动的房屋,如帐篷之类。

The explanation of the three characters＂■＂ ＂■＂ ＂■＂ in The Chinese Dictionary. Yanbu, according to the elucidation of ancients, makes people confused. Now, the author tries to list many materials to probe into the form and meaning of the three characters and to dispel the confusion. ＂■＂ is the variant form of ＂廈 （ 夏 ）＂ . 《 Yupian》 explains it as ＂jianye＂ （ degrading, ,贱也 ） or ＂adjacent house＂ . Compared with the two explanations, it arrives a conclusion that ＂贱＂ is the misunderstanding of the elucidation of ＂廈＂ - ＂pangguang＇ er bei＂ （ broad but low, 旁广而卑 ） and ＂wuzhisixia＂ （ the eaves of four sides of the house, 屋之四下） . ＂■＂ is the wrong word of ＂■＂ .The meaning ＂wutou＂ （ 屋头 ） of ＂■＂ should refer to ＂at the back of a house＂ or ＂the left and right side of a house＂ ; ＂xingwu＂ （ 行屋 ） should mean the movable house when people go outside, such as tent and so on.
