摘要
20年来,我们见证了随着全球化运动不断兴起,呼吁适应21世纪的新学习模式。目前,有大量文献聚焦在三大主题——新学习模式的推动因素、21世纪学习者必需的胜任力与技能、培养这些能力的教学法。本文分析了促进转变学习者学什么及教学方法的多种因素。专家们提出了必须转变学习内容和教学方法的不同理由。世界范围内,青年人的长期怠学和低龄高辍学率呼吁学校引起重视。人们对正规教育其价值的认识变化与学生的新特征也在挑战课程的价值。劳动力市场趋势转变和全球劳动力技能短缺,凸显了学生在迎接21世纪挑战的准备方面存在不足。人们对未来潜在的经济与全球危机的不断担忧也引起许多人质疑,当今学习者是否全面掌握批判性思维、创造力、合作与沟通等应对市场未来转变的必需技能?本文深度探讨了有关因素,并提出了用于重新定义21世纪学习内容与教学方法的合理框架。
The past two decades have seen the emergence of a global movement that calls for a new model of learning for the twenty-first century.There is now a significant body of literature focusing mainly on three topics:motivations for a new model of learning,the specific competencies and skills needed for learners to function effectively in the twenty-first century,and the pedagogy required to stimulate those capabilities.The paper identifies multiple drivers working to transform what learners are taught and the methods used for teaching and learning.Experts offer diverse reasons for the need to transform learning content and pedagogy.Persistent disengagement among youth and high early dropout rates worldwide has increased calls for schools to become more relevant.Changing views on the merit of formal education and emerging student characteristics are also challenging the value of the curriculum. Shifts in labour market trends and skills shortages in the global workforce have highlighted widening inadequacies in students' preparedness to tackle twenty-first century challenges.Growing concern about potential economic and global crises ahead have also led many to question whether today's learners possess the combination of critical thinking,creativity,and collaborative and communication skills necessary to tackle future shifts in the marketplace.This paper explores these factors in depth and offers a sound rationale for redefining the twenty-first century learning content and pedagogy.
