论谭人凤对五四运动的重要贡献——纪念伟大的五四运动98周年

On Tan Ren-feng's Important Contribution to the May 4th Movement——To Commemorate the 98th Anniversary of the Great May 4th Movement

1919年爆发的五四运动揭开了中国人民彻底反帝反封建的序幕,是中国新民主革命的起点。在五四运动中,谭人凤通过致电北洋政府、通电全国和发表演讲等形式,对学生反帝爱国行动表示坚决支持,对北洋政府镇压学生爱国行动进行了无情抨击,并大声呼吁社会各界响应和支持学生运动,从而对推动五四运动的深入产生了重要影响,为中国民主革命事业再立新功。同时,谭人凤从这些富于爱国热情、敢于与反动势力作坚决斗争的青年学生身上看到了中国民主革命的新希望。因此,谭人凤是五四运动史上不应被遗忘的重要人物。

The May 4th movement in 1919 opened the prologue of Chinese people＇s thorough anti-imperialist and anti-feudal struggle and started Chinee new- democratic revolution. In this movement, by telegramming the Beiyang government,publishing an open telegram to the whole nation speeches, Tan Ren -feng unequivocally expressed his strong support for students’ patriotic action,attacked the Beiyang government’s crackdown on the students and called for the whole society to respond and support student movement. It helped to deepen the May 4th movement and set a new merit forChina’s democratic revolution. At the same time, Tan Ren-feng saw new hope of Chinrevolution from these young students who were full of patriotic enthusiasm and dared to fightagainstre- actionary forces resolutely. Therefore,Tan Ren-feng should not be forgotten in the history of the May 4th movement.
