Of five-generation scholars studying modern Chinese literature, the second-generation scholars have played a vital role in the discipline construction and academic research, so a summary of their academic achievements and experience is conducive to the better development of the discipline. As a second-generation scholar, Feng Guanglian ＇ s outstanding achievement lies firstly in his study of Lu Xun, for his study in this regard is not only an academic research and pursuit but also a probe and inquiry into the current literary studies and the national spirit and even an inspiration arising from his being close to Lu Xun＇s life. Moreover, Feng Guanglian has made lots of fruitful probe into the construction of modem literature discipline and proposed some views of systematic and constructive significance. As a teacher, Feng Guanglian is keen on the teaching profession and is willing to be a cornerstone in the academic construction process by upholding Lu Xun＇ s ladder spirit, thus showing old-generation scholars＇ ardent love of and passionate feelings towards learning.
