《疑庵文剩》是许承尧中年自编文集,以真切的视角记录了近代徽州社会的变迁。咸同兵燹使徽州由繁盛走向衰落。许承尧生活在战乱后的年代,此时唐模许氏家族的经济与文化逐步恢复。许承尧所见:徽商于艰难中支撑着社会经济的运行,徽州妇女支撑门户、践行礼法。其实,徽州文化传统得以延续,徽商与外界保持联系,社会合力共同促进了近代徽州的稳定与转型。

Yi＇an Anthology, a collection compiled by Xu Chengyao at his middle age, realisticallyrecorded the social changes of Huizhou in modern times. The war which occurred during the years of XianFeng and Tong Zhi witnessed Huizhou＇s decline from prosperity. After the war, the cultural and economicsituation of the Xu Family in Tangmo, Huizhounoticed that Huizhou merchants made the socialgradually recovered. Xu Chengyao who lived in that periodeconomy operate in difficulties; women supported familiesand practiced moral standards by themselves. In fact, it＇s the continual development of Huizhou cuhureand traditions, the contacts Huizhou merchants kept with the outside and the joint efforts of the societythat promoted the stability and transformation of the modern Huizhou society.
