欧美与我国公共图书馆的发展差距悬殊,国内甚至有部分学者认为公共图书馆不久将被淘汰,这是源于"不能将公共图书馆与教育紧密结合"所造成的误判。事实上,图书馆的功能,是缺乏"直接与人互动及良好筛选信息机制"的网路所难以取代的。

There is a huge gap between the development of the domestic public libraries and the public libraries in Europe and the United States. Some scholars believe that public libraries would soon be eliminated in China.This is caused by the misunderstanding of ‘public libraries are not closely combined with education’ . In fact, the Internet is unable to replace the function of the library, because the Internet is ‘lack of direct interaction with people, and good information screening mechanism’ .
