中国马克思主义哲学史的"前史"指的是1979年以前马克思主义哲学史的发展阶段。马克思主义哲学史源自马克思对自己哲学体系创建的回忆中,途经恩格斯的提炼和放大、苏联东欧马克思主义哲学史家根据时代的精神的解读。在此进程中,"剧中人"按照自己所处时代精神实践并发展着马克思主义哲学理论,后世学者的描述又带着描述者所处时代的精神痕迹,每一个时代的马克思主义哲学史都呈现出不同的色彩,奔泻流淌至我国后形成了现在我们所看到的马克思主义哲学史。
