This paper analyzed and summarized the syndrome and treatment rules of Xiaochaihu Decoction in Treatise on Cold Pathogenic and Miscellaneous Diseases. Radix Bupleuri and Radix Glycyrrhizae are the basic herbs in Xiaochaihu Decoction. The formula shows the effects of strengthening vital qi to eliminate pathogenic factors and diaphoresis to relieve superficies syndrome, and the indications include exogenous diseases, miscellaneous diseases and gynecological diseases. The application should pay attention to the identification of similar syndromes, transformation of prescription and syndrome, drug withdrawal after recovery.
