《了不起的盖茨比》中黛西的性格在有些人眼中看来世俗且物质,但黛西对物质生活的追求也好,对婚姻的选择也好,都是自由的,因为她有自由选择的权利。而大多数人在社会框架的制约下,把男人的自由选择看成理所当然,却诟病女性自由选择的权利。有人说黛西太物质,这也许是她价值观的问题,但不能因为她选择的后果而否定女性应有的这种本该与男性一样平等的权利与自由的意志。
The character of Daisy in Great Gatsby was seemed secular and material in some people＇s eyes, but she had rights to pursue material life and marriage in free. The free choice of men was considered in deserve while women were denounced under the constraints of the social framework. The equal rights and free will that men should share with women should not be denied for the consequences of Daisy＇s choice.
