The Revenant released in 2015 has been awarded the ＂best director＂, the ＂best hero＂ and the ＂best cinematography＂ in Oscar Award. In the context of North American wilderness in 19 century, the movie relates a revenge story of the first settlers in northern wilderness. The magnificent beanty of nature, the virtue and vice of humanity, cruel violence and the persistent life are presented vividly in the film. This paper focus on the depiction of virtue and vice, beauty and ugliness of human nature, analyzes the complicated humanity depicted in the movie.
