延安时期的《中国青年》是恽代英、萧楚女在大革命期间主编的《中国青年》的延续。该刊于1939年4月16日发表第一卷,1941年3月停刊,历时两年,出版三卷二十七期。在中共中央的直接领导下,杂志以团结青年抗战为主题,积极宣传抗战,同时对青年们的学习、工作、生活进行正确的引导,开拓了青年们的视野和思想。这一时期的《中国青年》是抗日根据地内最大的青年刊物,它积极宣传中国共产党的方针、路线、政策,鼓舞全国青年的斗志;培养优秀的青年干部,提高青年的政治意识和文化素质;动员广大青年组织建立全国青年统一战线,为民族解放和革命斗争服务,做出了重大贡献。同时也为我党以后的新闻宣传事业做出了示范作用。
