民国时期女子英语教育研究--以河北省立女子师范学院英文系为例

A Study on Girls' English Education in the Era of Republic of China:A Case Study of the Department of English at Hopei-Province Girls' Normal College

民国时期,随着国际化的逐步加深,英语教育在城市发展中越来越受到重视。因此,作为近代中国较为著名的女子师范院校,河北省立女子师范学院的英语教育也取得了长足的进步。目前,海内外学术界对该校的研究主要聚焦于其家政、体育和音乐教育,鲜有对其英语教育的深入探讨。实际上,民国时期该校的英语教育很有特色,所以对英文系的历史沿革、课程设置、师资情况、学生构成、课外活动等进行综合考察,既有助于揭橥该校对民国时期女子英语教育所做出的历史贡献,又可以为当今英语教育提供借鉴。

With the gradual development of internationalization, English language education has been stressed more and more in the urban development. Hopei-Provincial Women Normal College, well- known in modern China, has also made a great progress. At present the academia at .home and abroad studies the subjects of this college focused on its home economics education, physical education and music education, while English language education is often neglected. In fact, the English education in this college in the era of Republic of China had unique features, This paper makes a thorough study on the history of the Department of English, its curricula, the faculty members, the students, and the extracurricular activities. It not only brings insight into the contribution to the girls＇ English education during the era of Republic of China, but also provides helpful ideas for today＇s English education.
