CPR and the Exploitation of Western Canada

From its very beginning, the Canadian Pacific Railway was a cooperate welfare between the federal government and the Canadian Pacific company. The destiny of this great railway was to attract immigrants exploiting Western Canada to realize John A. Macdonald＇s great goals that he had designed in the National Policy. The CPR did have played a key role in Western Canada＇s exploitation, and the development of Western Canada was deeply influenced by the CPR, whether good or bad.
