南海领土争议中的美国主流媒体角色及其原因分析

An Analysis of US Mainstream Media's Roles in the Context of the SCS Disputes and Their Causes

近年来,南海形势发展表明,美国介入南海的程度已逐步加深,从有限介入发展到积极介入,从"幕后黑影"变成"幕后黑手",现在则已走到台前公然介入。在这过程中,迄今在国际舆论场上仍占据强势话语权的美国主流媒体发挥了不容忽视的作用。美国媒体虽然基本上是私营媒体,但对于所谓事关美国国家利益的南海问题,往往配合政府立场,在南海领土争议中充当了多种角色。其中原因应从媒体藉以生存的政治和经济利益因素两个层面来分析。

The development of the international situation shows that in recent years the United States has gradu- ally deepened its involvement in the South China Sea （SCS） issue, from limited to active interventions, and now it has come to the stage to intervene publicly. In this process, the US mainstream media, still having a strong voice in the international public opinion field, have played important roles. Although the US media are basically private, they are willing to cooperate with their government in terms of the SCS issue, which is regarded as a matter of American national interest. They have thereby played a variety of roles consciously or not in the context of the SCS dispute. The main reasons for the US mainstream media to play these roles in the coverage of the SCS lie in their political and economic interests in it.
