Reflections of the “Two Development Trends” and Paradigm for Compiling CPC History

"两个发展趋向"观点,最初被用来分析1956—1966年社会主义建设十年探索时期的中共党史发展过程,后来又被用来分析和诠释新中国成立以后前29年中共党史发展过程,成为分析和阐释改革开放之前中共党史的研究范式或视角,得到党史学界的接受与认可。但这只是中共党史研究范式和视角之一。在中共党史通史编撰中,要不断探索和运用新的研究范式和视角,准确抓住中共党史发展的主线,继续推进中共党史研究的深入发展。

The idea of ＂Two development trends＂ had been taken to analyze the socialist construction of the Communist Party from 1956 to 1966 in China. Later, it was applied again to analyze and interpret the 29 years＇ development of the Party since its establishment. It has become a research paradigm for the study of CPC history before the reform and opening-up in China, which is recognized and accepted by researchers of CPC history. However, it is only one of the research paradigms of CPC history. Therefore, it is important for researchers to explore new paradigms and angles to seize the theme of CPC development in compiling works, hence to further the studies of CPC history.
