Qian Jibo's Research on Classical Literature

钱基博,国学大家,古文学家,在古典文学研究上成就卓越。受救亡图存思潮的影响,钱基博的古典文学研究有强烈的变革精神;另外,还志于教学,多讲论古籍、指导读法之研究。钱基博自诩"生平读书无一字滑过",故于学术文章利弊得失,"多抉心发奥之论"。他强调治学要有方,重在能会异见同,即同籕异;治学除了贵在发明,亦贵在"化矜释躁",增其学养。

Qian Jibo, master of Chinese national culture, and writer of ancient literature, made outstanding achievements in his research on classical literature. Influenced by the thoughts of saving the nation in peril and seek survival, Qian Jibo＇ s classical literature research had a strong revolutionary spirit. Besides, Qian was also devoted to teaching, and more to the research on the methodology of lecturing ancient classics and guiding reading. Qian praised himself by saying that he had not missed a word in reading in his life. Therefore, to a well-written or not well-written academic paper, he always expressed unique and insightful opinions. Qian emphasized that the right way to pursue study is to be able to see the different points of view and find the common ground, and find the common ground out the differences. Qian also stressed that besides creativity, another important thing in the pursuit of study is to dispel self-conceit and release impetuosity, and enhance self-cultivation.＂
