As current scientific philosophy research begins to consider on social field, socially engaged philoso- phy of science has demonstrated its unique enchantment and function. This paper digs into the socially engaged philosophy of science within the context of logical empiricism. First, socially engaged philosophy of science o- riginated from logical empiricism and provides a favorable condition for the rapid development of social engage- ment thoughts. Secondly, the specific dimensions of social participation of logical empiricism can be observed on its main objectives, implementation approaches and implementation context. Finally, the significance of re- flecting on ＂socially engaged philosophy of science＂ is to recognize that the base of philosophy of science is not merely defining what is ＂science＂ , instead its legitimacy lies in revealing how science is put into practice and in- teracts with society to serve public interests.
