1940年3月,西康文物展览会在重庆举行。该展览会展示给内地参观者的西康是一个物产富饶的世界,旨在激发时人建设西康,坚定抗战必胜之信念。与此同时,这场展览会也将西康在自然环境与人文社会等方面与内地迥异的特点展示给参观者,由此在参观者眼中塑造了一个"他者"的世界。

In March 1940, the exhibition of Xikang Cultural Relics was held in Chongqing. The exhibi- tion was meant to show the abundance of Xikang so as to stimulate the enthusiasm of people to build Xi- kang and establish a firm faith in the victory of the Anti -Japanese War. At the same time, this exhibi- tion was also intended to uncover the unique natural environment and social situation of Xikang of ＂ oth- erness＂ to the visitors.
