Local Drama in Xuzhou——Liuqin Opera

柳琴戏是徐州一带地方剧种,具有将近300年的悠久历史。柳琴戏是徐州农民的戏剧,演唱者是半农半艺人,戏剧内容是农民、农村生活,听(观)众是农民。徐州的习俗、饮食、方言,渗透在柳琴戏的方方面面,对柳琴戏的影响十分深远。近二三十年来,随着生活节奏的加快和娱乐方式的丰富,柳琴戏陷入受众老龄化、资金不足的生存危机,前景堪忧。

Liuqin opera, a local drama in Xuzhou area, has a long history of more than 300 years. It was played by farmers of Xuzhou, since the players were farmer-artists, the plays were about farmers and rural life, and the audience was mostly farmers. Every aspect of life in Xuzhou, including customs, diet, dialect, penetrated in the opera, having great im- pact on liuqin opera. In recent decades of years, with the quickening of life pace and the enrichment of entertainment ways, Liuqin drama has involved in a survival crisis due to the agedness process and caital shortage.
