Based on subject property and scientific methodology perspectives, the paper explores in depth the reasons for the lack of spatial dimension analysis of mainstream economics in the long term. Subject property is an overview of the nature and characteristics of subject＇s long-term evolution. The deep reason for the lack of spatial analysis in the mainstream economics is the result of various economic conflict and contradiction in the economic evolution. It is the result of the new classical economics utilitarianism occupying the main position. Therefore, the best method and approach to solve mainstream economics lack of spatial analysis for a long time is to comb and discover the western economic thought history. Methodology is the philosophical basis of scientific development of the discipline, and methodological differences determine the differences between two different disciplines and research paradigm, so it would also lead to lack of spatial dimension.
