Research of the Bian River Water Transport in Northern Song Dynasty

北宋汴河与汴梁(今河南省开封市)息息相关,却并非总是相宜。宋都汴梁不断进行的开发建设,地质地形的局限,都加重了汴河的淤塞。为保证社会经济的平稳发展,北宋政府不断完善以汴河为主的水运网,通过设置提举汴河堤岸司、河防兵等,起到了一定的作用。因后继统治者疏于维护,以致金蒙元时期,汴河的水运价值不再。

The Bian River in the Northern Song dynasty was closely related to Bianlian （ Kaifeng） , but not appropriate all the time. The development of Bianliang and the limitation of geography aggravated the silting of the Bian River. In order to ensure the smooth development of social economy, the government has improved the Bian River transportation network, such as setting up the Su-pervisor of the Bian River Dikes and the River Defense Army. But successive governors did not achieve effective maintenance and the Bian River lost its transportation value in Jin and Yuan dynasties.
