冯唐《飞鸟集》译本召回事件折射出当下中国社会整体翻译观上的认知误区和价值偏差。从翻译伦理角度出发,围绕"冯唐能不能这样译"探讨翻译伦理对译者自由的约束,围绕"译本能不能这样出"探讨传播伦理对文学功用的规定,围绕"译本能不能这样评"探讨批评伦理背后折射出的社会翻译观念,发现当下针对冯唐《飞鸟集》译文的批评意见反映出社会整体翻译观的滞后。翻译研究者有责任和义务向社会各界普及翻译界普遍认可的对文学翻译的认识和理解。

The recalling of Feng Tang＇s translation of Tagore＇s Stray Birds is a reflection of the misunderstanding and value deviation of the society＇s conception of translation.From the perspective of translation ethics,this article explores three questions.The first question is ＂if Feng Tang has the right to translate in this way＂,relating to the relationships between translation ethics and translators＇ choices;the second question is＂if a translation can be published in this way＂,relating to the impositions of communication ethics onto literary functions;the third question is＂if a literary translation can be commented in the current way＂,relating to current criticisms and their corresponding conception of translation.The criticism toward Stray Birds shows that China is lagging behind in terms of social conception of translation.Translation scholars have the obligation to show the world how we should view literary translation.
