摘要
汉英名量搭配的显著差异之一就是汉语多个体量词,而英语多集体量词。本文以意象图式理论为视角,探析汉英名量搭配差异背后的认知缘由。汉语多个体量词,是由汉民族倾向于从事物的形状、大小等属性来认知事物的视觉意象图式性视角化所致;英语多集体量词,是由英民族习惯于从事物的动作行为等属性来认知事物的动觉意象图式性视角化所致。
One of the significant differences between Chinese and English is that the former possesses more individual classifiers while the latter has more collective ones.Grounded on the theory of Image Schema,this paper investigates the cognitive reason hidden behind the discrepancy between Chinese and English.The finding shows that the frequently-used individual classifiers in Chinese reflect the visual image schematic cognitive mode of the Chinese people,while the English collective classifiers reveal the kinesthetic image schematic cognitive mode of the English people.
