This paper discusses in the operation process of belt conveyor broken belt and the causes and harm of slip fault, and put forward the control of broken belt and skid protection monitoring system, taking the incremental encoder as the speed sensor, PLC control system, the main program and interrupt program of belt conveyor running process monitoring, effectively improve the reliability of equipment operation.
