Through the analysis on the working mechanism and failure mode of coupling beams,this paper understood its characteristics,according to the＂strong limb weak beam＂＂strong shear weak bending＂principle,discussed the design method of coupling beams,and puts forward the suggestions according to the common difficulty in high-rise building coupling beams design,provided basis for important energy consumption components research in coupling beams shear wall system.
