Modem cognitive metaphor theory holds that metaphor is not only a rhetorical device, but also a way of human cognitive world. This paper will try to analyze the film ＂3-iron ＂ from the perspective of conceptual metaphor, and clarify the basic theory, characteristics and working mechanism of conceptual metaphor through the examples. That will help us understand and appreciate the message that the film will be delivering, and think of the dialectical relationship between love and violence.
