摘要 在E·L·多克特罗的《大进军》中,埃米莉·汤普森的进军经历揭示出个体见证对于历史的伦理意义。她曲折的心路历程形成了一种不断被改写和重置、不断开放和生成的个体见证。这种见证也成为一种关于个人身份的故事。埃米莉从战争受害者到历史见证者和世界修复者的身份转变,表明个人在见证历史的过程中可以意识到并承担起对世界和他人的伦理责任,把"我见证"转化为"我行动",对人类文明将产生虽微弱但意义非凡的推动作用。 E. L. Doctorow's The March highlights the ethical significance of individual witness to history by foregrounding Emily Thompson's Civil War experience. Emily's witness to war reveals that individual witness to history undergoes an ever-changing and self-revising process and therefore becomes an ongoing narrative of individual identity. Emily's transformation from a war victim to a historical witness and a voluntary world-mender suggests that the individual can realize and take his/her responsibility to society through his/her witness to history.
