翻译学的理论建设既需要成熟的学者,更需要成长中的博士和年轻学者。作为翻译领域的后备力量和未来理论发展的主力军,博士生宜先掌握问题驱动的研究模式,掌握一套发现问题、解决问题的方法和流程,先从原有理论中发现问题,通过深入研究逐步验证假说、修正理论,力争从学位论文写作开始就推动理论一点一滴向前发展。本文从理论建设的方法入手,讨论理论研究的队伍建设;从博士学位论文的规范,看翻译学博士论文理论框架的构建、选题与研究方法对理论建设的影响。

In their efforts to acquire a systematic knowledge of what is currently constitutive of Translation Studies,doctoral students in this field come to grips with theories of translation not just by learning them by heart,but also by identifying their problematic aspects,checking out the coherence of their lines of argument,and exploring ways to amend their weak links.In so doing,those who pursue advanced degrees in translation studies become active participants and,collectively,a force to be reckoned,in the development of translation theories.To facilitate these young scholars' assumption of such a role,fostering their skills in problem solving ought to be a top priority in translation-related doctoral programs.
