As an important perspective in contemporary epistemology,virtue epistemology has reclaimed'understanding'as an issue of its study.Most virtue epistemologists argue that it is supposed to make an essential transition in epistemic normativity,from the deontological sense construed by rule-following acts to the conception of intellectual virtue,which means a lot for scientific understanding.In terms of that transition,scientific understanding can be interpreted in a virtue epistemologist's way,including contemporary debates over factivity,epistemic luck,and knowledge-how.
