This article analyzes the main reasons of lacking ＂maritime spirit＂ for modern seafarers, and puts forward a series of educational and teaching reforms such as engaging in professional teaching mode and integra- tion of curriculum content in maritime education. It aims to promote students＇ awareness of navigation, and culti- vate excellent seafarers with maritime spirit and making greater contributions for the shipping industry.
