By analyzing the freeway macroscopic dynamic traffic flow model, the paper presents a neural network model for traffic flow. Combining the traffic investigative data, the neural network was trained using the technique of simulation and optimization. It is found that the neural network model can describe the real behavior of traffic flow more accurately. The simulation results of the neural network model are optimal.
