A Brief Analysis of the Origin and Influence of the Overseas Chinese Nationality Law in the Late Qing Dynasty

晚清华侨国籍问题的产生以及由此而引发的中外交涉最终导致我国历史上第一部国籍法的出台。晚清国籍法的颁布 ,是清政府侨务政策的一个重大举措 ,对我国法制史及外交史均产生了深远的影响。但由于历史条件的限制 ,其法律效果极其有限 。

The appearance of the problem of overseas nationality and relevant diplomatic negotiations during the late Qing Dynasty led to the publishing of the first nationality law in the history of China,which was a great action in the Qing government's overseas Chinese affairs.Meanwhile,the law had a profound effect on the history of law as well as diplomacy.However,its effect was very limited under such historical conditions,resulting in the problem of dual nationality of overseas Chinese.
