Ground penetrating radar for detecting ice cracks and crevasses in Chinese national Antarctic research expedition

摘要 环绕着南极大陆陆缘海冰隐伏冰裂缝发育,严重威胁我国南极科考海冰运输的安全.探地雷达可以精确、快速、有效探测海冰层序空间结构、隐伏冰裂缝两翼形态、冰裂缝的分布范围等关键要素.探冰队对拟选东部线路约22 km进行雷达探冰作业,新发现规模较大隐伏冰裂缝5条.评估了中国第30次南极科考队海冰卸货运输路线,为科考船"雪龙"号上大量物资、科考设备和重型装备安全运抵中山站保驾护航. The ice cracks and crevasses around the Antarctic continent marginal seas are a serious threat to the safety of the sea transportation in Chinese National Antarctic Research Expedition. The ground penetrating radar is an accurate, rapid and effective method to prospect the sequence-structure space of the sea ice, the shape of the concealed ice cracks, the distribution of the crevasses and other key elements. The team of ice-prospecting has carried out the ground penetrating radar and the eastern line about 22 km, and 5 concealed ice cracks have been found. It has not only evaluated the transport routes for discharging sea ice in the 30th Chinese National Antarctic Research Expedition, but also provided the security for transporting a large number of materials, scientific devices and heavy equipment to Zhongshan Station.
