陈寅恪“史学救国”思想渊源研究——从任蔡锷秘书谈起

陈寅恪先生是我国著名史学家,在学术史上占据重要地位。他虽然自少年时期起便留学日本、欧洲,学习经世之学,但由于其家学渊源深厚,深受晚清乾嘉考据学派、西北史地之学的影响,留洋期间又受到当时盛行于西洋与东洋的"中国学"的刺激,具有良好的史学素养。1915年春他曾到北京,任北洋经界局督办蔡锷的秘书,经界局的"分译东西图集,详溯中国经界源流"工作更促使其坚定了"史学救国"的志向。这段历史很少有人提及,但这段经历随后又促使他继续留洋欧美,研究梵文、巴利文及其他东方古文字,对其毕生的学术道路影响至深。

Chen Yinke is a famous historian of our country,enjoying a great prestige in the academic world. Although he had studied in Japan and Europe in his early age, learning the knowledge of the world, with his deep origin of family education, his study was influenced by the school of Qianjia textual research in late Qing Dynasty and the study of the history of the Northwest. During studying abroad, he developed a good value of historiography, affected by the contemporary prevailing “Sinology” both by the west and east academic fields. In the spring of 1915 , he went to Beijing, and served as the secretary of the Border Bureau of Beiyang government under the supervision of Cai E, charging the Border Bureau’s work of the “pictures’ translation of the east and the west, and specific analysis the origin,？, which also prompted him to set up a firm ambition of “saving the nation by studying history”. This period of history was seldom mentioned？ and after that, he continued to study abroad in Europe and America to study the languages, such as Sanskrit, Pali and other oriental ancient words, which threw a deep effect to his later academic research.
