Ma Duanlin＇s ＂Weng Xian Tong Kao＂ is a collection of ancient and modern codes and regulations, Which clarifies the process of historical evolution, finds the cause that Song been destroyed,and takes the experience of eliminating the country.He focused on historical sources, comprehensive analysis, and pursued comprehensiven- ess.He initiated volume catalog, compiled others＇ viewpoints. In the process of compiling his literature, he was cautious and doubtful, and he did not assume that he was wrong. His academic focus on more than twenty years, work diligently, and eventually become a ＂Weng Xian Tong Kao.＂ This paper begins with Ma Duanlin＇s life and summarizes the principles and methods he used in compiling the ＂ Weng Xian Tong Kao ＂ to explore the enlightenment of the compilation work of archival documents.
