On the Feature,Experience and Lessons of Compiling Chronology in Qing Dynasty

清代修志作风时有变化。前期草率,中期谨严,后期谨严、草率并行。清代修志既有成功经验,也有失败教训。其成功经验有四:一是以编修一统志带动地方修志,二是让大批学者参与修志,三是以树立典型带动一般,四是建立修志制度。其失败教训有二:一是清初朝廷规定通志成书时间过短,二是未曾颁布统一志例。

There were some changes in compiling chronology in Qing Dynasty. In the earlier stage, the feature was careless, in the middle and late era, the feature was strict. Compiling chronology of Qing Dynasty had not only successful experience, but also lessons from failure.The successful experience are firstly compiling unitary chronology to lead local chronology, secondly plenty of scholars participating that activities, thirdly setting up a typical example to lead the common places, fourthly establishing compiling system. The lessons from failure are firstly too short time of publishing chronology that the Qing court prescribed, secondly not issued unified notes on how to compiling chronology
