The Joy Luck Club is a masterpiece of Chinese - American writer Amy Tan. It tells 16 small stories developing from misunderstanding and conflict to reconciliation between mothers and daughters. Because of the differences of their growing environ- ments, levels of education and values, mothers and daughters cannot communicate deeply in the American mainstream culture. This paper, starting form interpreting "other" image, explores the feminist novel from the perspective of post - colonialism.
