摘要
在史学研究之中,"经世致用"与"为学问而学问"两种治学态度常被相提并论。孰是孰非,众说纷纭。一代史家柳诒徵高张"经世致用"之旗,明确反对"为学问而学问"。对其"史学致用"论潜研深探,并与当时相关论说相互比较,则可发现"经世致用"与"为学问而学问"之争,层面有二:第一层面易有共识,第二层面则殊难调和。当代论者探讨两者之争,多将两个层面混而为一,益发淆乱。因此回顾柳氏"史学致用"之论,梳理二者之争,也就极有必要。
In historical research,the principles of “ pragmaticism” and “ academy for academic sake” are regularly compared with each other and there are various viewpoints. The historian LIU Yi - zheng persis-ted on the first attitude explicitly and opposed the second. Thinking LIU Yi - zheng, s opinion deeply and comparing his idea with other scholars, viewpoints, we find controversy between these viewpoints high-lights the two levels. It is easy to reach a consensus on the first level,but difficult to get to a common view on the second level. As far as this question is concerned, contemporary scholars usually confuse the two levels, leading to a necessary review of LIU Yi - zheng, s idea and summarization of these questions.
