对大自然与人性自然的热情讴歌,是迟子建的写作主题。但迟子建的写作中存在着过于自然化的倾向,甚至追求自然的奇观化。这对她小说中的人物形象、思想深度、故事结构、题材选择、叙述方式等方面都产生了某种程度的不利影响。如能兼顾自然与文化两翼,迟子建的创作将会取得更大成就。

To eulogize the nature and the human nature is the theme of Chi Zi - jian. However , the tend-ency of excessive naturalization or even the quest for the natural spectacle can be found in her writing , which , more or less , adversely affects the image of characters , the depth of thoughts , the structure of plots , the choice of subjects , the way of narration and so on.
