吉长铁路是构建近代东北铁路交通的一条骨干线路,它连接了吉林省的长春、吉林两市,从历史价值上看,它是当时中国清政府的第一条自建铁路,它的修建代表了当时清政府对于外国侵略势力的反抗,在日本方面进行大新京规划之前,它是组成长春城市主体框架的五大历史街区中的一条,它独立于长春伊通河西岸的四块区域。独立的位于长春伊通河的东岸地区,它的建立带动了整个东岸的发展,大量的人力、物资由于铁路的设立而不断的向该区域汇集。因此,其历史价值不容忽视。

Jichang Railway is a backbone line for constructing modern northeast railway transportation.It connects the Jilin and Changchun,and it is the first self-built railway from the Qing government of China at that time.It represented the Qing government＇s resistance to foreign aggression.It was one of the five historical blocks that formed the main urban framework of Changchun.It was independent of four areas on the west bank of Yitong River in Changchun.Independent of the Changchun Yitong River in the east coast of the region,its establishment led to the development of the entire East Coast,a lot of manpower, materials and the establishment of the railway and the continuous collection to the region.Therefore,its historical value can not be ignored.
