The United States has paid enough attention to the cultural identity in ideological and political education. It has made the value education, moral education and religious education rooted in the fertile soil of culture, creating a strong cultural atmosphere and cultural environment, forming a unique model of civic education. To promote the innovation and development of ideological and political education in China, we should also learn from the experience and methods of cultural identity in the process of ideological and political education in the United States. The cultural identity of ideological and political education in China must adhere to the guidance of Marx’s theory, adhere to the socialist cultural orientation and carry forward the excellent traditional culture, so as to enhance the effectiveness of ideological and political education.
