Characteristics and Causes of the Cult: Survey and Analysis of Shandong“Universal God”

本文通过对山东"全能神教"(1)的实地调研,以这一个邪教组织为例,分析和总结了邪教的一些特点和产生的部分原因。这两个组织在信仰上具有排他性和反社会性的特点,在组织上具有神秘性和层级性的特点,在活动仪式上具有灵活性与娱乐性的特点,促其产生的社会原因则涉及社会转型期部分农村地区的社会失范问题、精神空虚与农村娱乐形式单一问题等几个方面。

By summarizing and analyzing some characteristics and the causes of the cult through field investigation of the evil organization the ＂Universal God＂ in Shandong, this article points out that the evil organization is exclusive and antisocial in terms of the faith, mysterious and gradable in the way of organization and flexible and entertaining concerning ceremonial activities. Its eauses include the losing of social morals and the single entertainment form in some rural areas along with spiritual emptiness during the period of social transition.
