Native Culture in the Eyes of Western Missionaries

现如今,有关于少数民族的研究是当今学术界极为关注的一大热点,对台湾原住民历史文化与传统生活方式的探讨与研究也吸引了越来越多学者的目光。通过结合西方传教士文献中的真实访查记录和历史记载对台湾原住民奇特的传统文化从生产形态、服饰习惯和婚丧礼俗三个具体的方面展开探析,从西方传教士独特的视角探索台湾原住民的传统文化。

Nowadays, there is a focus on the study of the minority nationalities. The research on the history and cu]ture of Taiwan aborigines and the traditional way of life has attracted more and more seholars＂ attention. In this paper, by combining the true records and historical records of the western missionaries in the literature, the author explores Taiwan Aboriginal peculiar traditional cuhure in three specific aspects of production mentality, dress habits and funeral customs. Above all, from the perspective of Western missionaries, it＇s easier to explore the traditional culture of Taiwan aborigines.
