“Keeping Up with the Times”:A Retrospect and Prospect of Research on the Famous Artist Guan Shanyue

关山月在其漫长的艺术生涯中,以国画创作的方式参与了各个历史时期的重大历史事件。学术界围绕关山月抗战时期的艺术活动、新中国成立初期对中国画的改造以及50至60年代的旅欧写生等重要问题进行了深入研究,取得了较为丰富的成果。今后的研究在史料范围、改革开放新时期关山月的艺术活动等方面有望取得新的突破。

In his long artistic career,Guan Shanyue participated in the major historical events in different historical periods in the form of traditional Chinese paintings. The academic world has made in-depth studies of some important issues regarding his art activities during the Anti-Japanese War,the reformation of traditional Chinese painting in the first years of the People's Republic of China,and his sketching life in Europe in the 1950 s and 60 s,with rich fruits. New breakthroughs are expected in the scope of historical materials and research on his art activities in era of reform and opening-up.
