关联翻译理论视域下陶渊明诗词中空白的英译

The translation of the blank in Tao Yuanming's poems from the perspective of relevance translation theory

关联翻译理论认为人的语言交际是交际双方的一个明示——推理过程,在不同认知语境下,翻译以建立最佳关联为目标。诗词中的"空白"现象是诗词意境的要求,更是翻译的难点。本文从该理论出发,以陶渊明诗词为研究对象,探讨在诗词中空白的英译过程中,译者如何处理认知语境上的差异并寻找最佳关联,以实现翻译的最终目标。

The theory of relevance translation holds that human language communication is an express and reasoning process of both sides of communication,and aims to establish the best association in different cognitive contexts. The＂blank＂in poem is requirement of artistic conception of the poem,which is the difficulty of translation. Taking Tao Yuanming’s poems as the object of study,this paper explores the way translator deals with the differences in the cognitive context and finds the best relevance in the process of translating,so as to achieve the final goal of translation.
