Hyperborea作为一个历史化的神话和神话化的历史相融合的产物,古希腊罗马文献对其意象的建构是一个不断变化的过程。虽然泛希腊范围的宗教聚合在某种程度上推动了Hyperboreans与希腊人的文化认同,但Hyperborea与希腊的关系非常微妙和复杂。作为他者的Hyperboreans,在宗教上与希腊人保持着千丝万缕联系的同时,又在本族群的文化和政治上保持着鲜明的特性和独立性。

Hyperborea is regarded as a blending product of Greco-Roman mythological history and his- torical mythology, and it is a complicated and constantly changing process to fabricate, cognize and construct the image of the Hyperboreans for the Greeks and Romans in their history. Although common religious rites in some degree may contribute to the formation of Panhellenic national identity, the relationship between Delos and Hyperborea is rather subtle and complicated. On one hand,by means of Apollo sanctuary cult,Hy- perboreans maintain a solid relationship with Delians,on the other hand,they are still keeping their distinct cultural identity and political independence.
