一般而言,英语翻译以语篇为基本层面,关注语篇的"整体"意义、主旨和风格,对其所体现的客观世界、认知世界及各类意义关联作出映射性表述。作为一名语言翻译工作者,应在还原原文字面意思的基础上,注重强调认知连贯性的识别与构建。从认知连贯生成和理解的实质出发,阐述在英语翻译过程中连贯生成的认知心理过程,具体阐述认知连贯如何参与构建语境情境、文化情境及补充相关缺省信息的。

English translation is generally based on discourse level and focuses on the ＂overall＂ meaning, substance and style of a discourse, giving reflexive description on the objective world, cognitive world, as well as various correlative meaning it reflects. A language translator should give emphasis on identification and construction of cognitive consistency based on restoring the original literal meaning, This article, embarking from the nature of coherent generation and cognitive understanding, elaborates the cognitive mental process of coherent generation in the process of English translation, specifically explores how cognitive coherence are getting involved in constructing situational and cultural context and supplementing the relevant vacant information.
