The project-based teaching method encourages students to collect extensive data and study in- depth a topic to acquire knowledge and skills, which is considered to be an effective strategy in English Classroom by training students＂ ability to think independently and develop their critical thinking skills. The paper analyzes the importance of Literature Teaching in college English teaching;the feasibility of project-based teaching method and its specific implementation ideas in English literature teaching, indica- ting that the use of the method in infiltrating American Literature knowledge will stimulate students＇inter- est in learning literature, enhance students＂ aesthetic taste and cultural awareness, help students explore the effective learning strategy and provide a new feasible way for college English teaching reform under the new situation.
