动机是外语学习的重要影响因素,基础英语是英语专业学生基础阶段最为重要的课程之一,教师在基础英语教学中要尤为注意学生学习动机的培养与激发。本文旨在探讨英语专业学生在学习动机方面存在的问题,以及教师在基础英语教学中该如何培养与激发学生的学习动机。

Motivation is one of the key factors influencing foreign language learning, and Basic English is one of the most important courses of English majors at the foundation stage. In Basic Eng- lish teaching, teachers should pay special atlention to cultivating and stimulating students＇ learning motivation. This paper aims at studying the problems of English majors in learning motivation as well as the ways of cultivating and stimulating the motivation in Basic English teaching.
